Head MMA Instructor Mike “Joker” Guymon

Showing athletic promise from a young age, Mike excelled at sports from the very beginning, continuing to propel himself up the ranks through high school sports and eventually inches away from a professional baseball career. However, before his baseball dreams became reality, Mike found a new passion: Mixed Martial Arts. He has now been involved in Martial Arts for over 15 years. In his early days, Mike focused on Muay Thai Kickboxing and developed a devastating stand up game. Soon realizing that to truly become a top fighter you have to have an all around game, he became obsessed with Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling. Joker started fighting professionally in the year 2000. He exhibited an amazing understanding of the MMA fight game and was not only fighting, but was in high demand by many other fighters to help them prepare for their fights and to work their corner. Joker started pulling double duty as a fighter and a trainer. He has had the good fortune to train with some of the best and brightest in the sport, including Randy Couture, BJ Penn, Babalu Sobral, Mark Munoz, Mike Whitehead, and more. Joker quickly rose to compete at a top professional level. He is the King of the Cage Welterweight champion and has fought in the UFC. However, his true passion is teaching and coaching.Like any great coach, Joker has a chess master’s ability to see things before they happen and think many moves ahead. He has an incredible ability to transfer his knowledge to his students and help to improve their game as the sport continues to evolve.
